While the people who work within the field of Internet Marketing really like how much freedom and variety it offers it is still a fact that most of the people who do not work here are more likely to look at it with intensely critical eyes. IM and even the internet in general are still steeped in rumors and misconceptions. It does not really make any difference if you are selling your own products like cell phone spy software or simply as affiliate marketers creating spybubble reviews. The individuals who work inside of it realize just how legitimate and fulfilling it will be and, all the while, it poses an important problem: do you want to be judged for this world in your “offline” life?

Many individuals who perform in the industry of Internet Marketing do so under a pseudonym. They select fake names for themselves because they would like to keep their IM life separated from everything else they doespecially if they are only working in IM part time. Many fresh and part time IMers worry about being found out by bosses and friends. Of course, even if you don’t worry about this sort of thing, it will be an important question: do you need to use a pseudonym for your online work?

Pseudonyms bring with them a lot of positive aspects. The most important advantage, by far, is being able to set up an identity that is separate from your personal life and makes it easier to keep the two from merging into each other. People who perform in mainly strict or demanding fields or who are surrounded by those who view the Internet as a sketchy place benefit from using a pseudonym because it protects them from judgment.

IMers are also prone to use pseudonyms when they want to sell products in different niches. This way they are able to create expert and niche identities for themselves that lend credibility to their businesses without having to worry about looking like a dabbler. You do not have to worry about someone saying “but what about the conflicting market that you are also selling in?” because you’ll be doing that selling under a different name?

Unfortunately, though, on the list of large reasons that people do Internet Marketing business with a pseudonym is because they want to evade their tax responsibilities. They think that if the enterprise is not conduced under their legal names, then they won’t need to worry about any of the money they earn being reported to the IRS. It is very important that you don’t fall for this sort of faulty logic. Even if you work under a different name the income counts as income and you are responsible for it. Further, the IRS will find youpeople who aim to cheat the system generally get found out.

Whether or not you decide to use a pseudonym for the business you decide to do is totally your choice. For some individuals it is basically less complicated to have one name for their daily offline life and another for their online ventures. For other people keeping every little thing under the same name is actually easier because it means they have fewer things to remember.
