Online retail business – Who is the best shipping provider?

I am helping my wife start a new online clothing business. She will be using Yahoo merchant services and wants the best value and service from a shipping provider. She will be shipping both domestic and international and will want a service that can dynamically calculate shipping costs and add it to the puchase. Does anyone have experience with UPS, FedEx, or USPS in this capacity?
Thx

fedex is the best

  2. UPS is very reliable and lower cost.
FexEd is very reliable and typically higher cost.

    I suggest she offer both.

US Mail is a needed option to ship to PO Boxes.

  3. You may want to look at
http://www.redroller.com – you can see what shipping options meet your transit desires and costs
http://www.bongous.com – an option if you want to outsource it
http://www.lexiconn.com/ecommerce/shopsite/dhl_install.html – I wouldn't build the API's for the rate calculations if I were in your shoes… providers like this are the way to go.

    General answers about shipping:

    1) you want a delivery confirmation/signiture
    2) tracking is very useful from a CS perspective
    3) you are likely to get the best residential rate through DHL @Home… which at low volumes is only offered through red roller.
    4) DHL@Home (final delivery by USPS) and UPS are the best residential options.

Oh… and set up google analytics!
